Lifetime Art – I have been drawing since I was a child but the quality and medium didn’t mature until my late college years. Thru the years my drawings became more intricate and refined. This became more evident as I drew airplanes when I worked for Hughes Airwest in Engineering. I tried an oil painting but stopped at 95% due to life events. Eventually, I was drawn to white charcoal drawings, which became my media for years. Finally, in 2023, I decided to try oils again and I was very pleased with the results and I have continued in oil ever since.
My Best Hikes – My brothers and I have been hiking together in AZ since 1970. Over time we expanded our hikes from the Superstitions to other destinations like Squaw Peak, Camelback, Humphrey’s Peak, Havasupai, the Grand Canyon and more. Our adventures took us to Mt. Whitney in CA, Mt. Pichincha in Ecuador, many Indian ruins and many other adventures. This page shares many photos, videos and drone shots with you.
Creation Paper – The Biblical account of creation has fascinated me since I was a child. I believe the only accurate description of creation, the flood and the ice age are given in the Bible. Biblical truths are very limited but much can be learned by combining God’s word with earth’s evidence. For years Bible scholars thought Mt. Sinai was in the middle of the Sinai Peninsula. But modern scholars have come to accept that the real Mt. Sinai is in modern day Saudi Arabia (old testament Midian). I am encouraged by the exhaustive work of Creationists who theorize creation, the flood and the ice age but I believe there is room for one more theory.
AZ Petrified Roots – Petrified wood roots can be exquisite in their intricate detail. The unique color, plant structure and even the smell are rarely seen or experienced. In fact, very little information is available. A quick search for petrified wood provides millions of hits of samples for sale, geology discussions and descriptions of petrified wood locations around the world. A search for petrified roots provides very few hits. Some roots are not completely agatized during the fossilization process “permineralization” because they were underground. It seems that my recent discovery of partially petrified roots in northern Arizona is very unique.
Dongilli Tree – The Dongells, Dongellis and Dongillis all trace their roots back to a small community in the Tyrolean hills 10 miles north of Lago di Garda, Italy. Most immigrated to America thru Pennsylvania when the economy and wars left the Dongillis without a loyal home country from 1890-1910. This site only provides some of the Dongilli ancestry and photos but the whole Dongilli tree, back to the 1700s can be found at www.dongillitree.com.
Stop School Shooting – This paper was written over a period of several years of seeing senseless student school shootings. The frustration and empathy that we all felt caused me to search my heart and mind for ‘some’ solution. After about the 5th shooting, my years of experience on the Boeing Apache program finally gave me a “imagineering” vision. Boeing uses Risk Management tools and failure analysis processes to minimize the chance for failure on every component and system of every air vehicle. Over a period of years talking to counselors, engineers, teachers, administrators, etc., this paper was written and improved. It still needs a detailed final review from a much broader audience, but here is the start.
